About Click-to-Donate Sites, Portals and Suites Click-To-donate (CTD) sites CTD sites operate on a simple principle. A charitable cause operates a web site that sells ad space. Advertisers pay to have people look at or click on their ads. When people visit the site and see the ads, the advertisers pay the web site, according to how many people view or click on the ads. The first CTD site was the now-famous HungerSite, begun in 1999 by John Breen. Since then other organizations have copied the idea and made changes and improvements. This very simple but brilliant idea is now generating a great deal of money for charitable causes.Click-To-Donate Portal Sites When CTD sites began to proliferate, a second great idea was born: the CTD Portal site. The first of these was QuickDonations, put together by Michael Kolodenko. The principle here was also simple. People who are prepared to give a little of their surfing time each day can contribute their time and attention to a number of causes. But finding those causes and moving from one website to another was taking a lot of time that could have been used to make donations. CTD portal sites made it easier by gathering all the CTD site addresses together in one place and enabling the surfer to click down through a list of links and visit many sites in a short period of time. Since QuickDonations' inception a number of other CTD Portal sites have opened. Links to other Click-to-Donate Portal sites can be viewed by clicking here. Click-To-Donate Suites This is a variation on both of the above. Visitors to these sites view the ads and the income is given to some good cause. On some suite sites, the visitor can select from a list which charity or cause should benefit from the donation. The differences are that the website is not operated by the charitable agency itself and the website does not link directly to the charitable causes it supports. It is operated by a third party who then transfers the ad income to the charitable cause. GivaClick This site has been developed as a Click-To-Donate (CTD) Portal site for several reasons: Quality experience for site visitors: While people visit CTD sites out of the goodness of their hearts, a fundamental GivaClick principle is that the web site benefited should respect the visitor by maintaining a site that is attractive,easy-to-navigate, and has plenty of good information about the cause being supported. In addition, the site should make it easy for visitors to find out how much money is being generated by their visits and how it is being spent. GivaClick's lists include only sites that meet all these criteria. These are sites that merit more than a brief visit and need support. Ease of Navigation: GivaClick provides the easiest ways to navigate from site to site: The GivaClick Mobile Home Page: Absolutely the easiest way to click-donate. Every time you open your browser you will benefit a charitable cause, a different one each time you open your browser. This will generate many visits for charitable sites. For you, it means that you no longer have to set aside a special time when you click-to-donate. It is seamlessly and effortlessly integrated with your other online activities. The only difference is that when you open your browser, instead of seeing the MSN or YAHOO or Lycos homepages (and ads!), you will open to a charitable site and they will benefit from your visit. Then you move on to your other online activities. The GivaClick Button on this site. Each time this button is clicked, a new CTD site window opens up in place of the previous window. The GivaClick Homepage: This makes it easy for you to come directly from your desktop to this site. Making GIVACLICK your default home page simply means that when you start your browser you will automatically come to GIVACLICK. Services to Non-Profits (coming soon): There are many charitable organizations that would like to benefit from a Click-to-donate site but don't know how to set one up. GivaClick will provide advice to these organizations in the How to Publish a CTD Site section. Here organizations can learn how to get web space, how to build a web site, how to generate traffic, and how to earn money and maximize income from that traffic. Generate income and traffic for our parent site: Street Angels Africa. Givaclick will eventually place advertising on all its pages, the proceeds of which will belong entirely to Street Angels Africa. When visitors come to GivaClick they will not only benefit the sites they visit, at the same time they will benefit Street Angels Africa. |
