Well, it's not all sweetness and light. This site does not intend to sugarcoat life in the streets. The kids do get miserable and gloomy as these photos show and their circumstances are often dangerous as well as difficult. But click on them to see what a little care and attention can produce.

The boy on the right, when given the opportunity to attend school, finished 6 years of primary school in 3 years and is now is the 9th grade. The boy on the left started in grade two not speaking any English. He skipped grade 3 and is now at the top of his class in grade 8. (Update 2006 - one boy is now finished his education and the other is in his final year in high school.)
