The photos in this gallery, unlike the other galleries, were all taken on the very first day I met and talked with almudos. These were the first almudos I met and I know I was an equally unique experience for them. I expected to be filled with pity or even despair after meeting them. Instead I was impressed by their dignity and inspired by their graceful acceptance of circumstances they could not change. I am happy to say we were able to assist all these boys during the months after this first meeting. Over the next year, all of these boys returned to their homes, permanently.
