Malinke

The Malinké are an African ethnic group.

Approximately one million Malinkés are scattered throughout The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mauritania and Sénégal. Traditionally they are subsistence farmers, growing small cash crops of peanuts and millet in the Sahel Africa region.

They are generally muslim, having abandoned earlier pantheist beliefs. ***
