This dictionary, though hand sized, contains a surprisingly large number of words plus gramatical forms (which are very helpful to those learning a language), tough it does not contain lessions in grammar per se. Its cross referencing is excellent.

This best selling phrase book series contains a color-coded system that makes words and phrases easy to find. It is broken down by basic expressions, arrival, hotel, eating out, sightseeing, relaxing, shopping guide, bank, mail, telephone, doctor, reference sections, grammar and dictionary. It also includes handy travel information, tips and much more.

I kept this book in the pocket of my cargo pants throughout my stay in Finland. This book is by no means intended to teach you Finnish, but if you're looking for the bare essentials, this is the best you'll find. All the phrases have a pronunciation guide, however, I found this more confusing than helpful. Pronunciation in Finnish is very difficult. You're better off studying the pronuciation section at the beginning of the book and then apply it to the phrases. The best part of this book though is that the price can't be beat!

These cassettes are recorded by native Finnish speakers and can be used on their own or to accompany the book, helping you with pronunciation and listening skills.

Now matter how you say it, this small pocket dictionary easily makes the transition between Suomi and Englanti (Finnish and English for you non-bi-lingualites) so easy. It's a nice partnership with the "Say it in Finnish" book.
